Overview

SMCP is seeking a proactive, people-focused Human Resources Advisor to support the effective delivery of HR services across its Australian operations. You'll manage day-to-day HR operations and provide timely, quality support to leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle. This is a newly created, hands-on role suited to a junior to mid-level HR Advisor, ideally with Retail industry experience. You'll join a collaborative team where your ideas are valued. This is a full-time role based in our Sydney Headquarters in Bondi Junction.

Responsibilities
  • HR Administration across the full employee lifecycle
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders on general HR queries
  • Provide practical, timely, and accurate advice to leaders on all people-related matters
  • Coordinate the onboarding process, from documentation to supporting a seamless first day experience for new hires
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies & procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Assist with the development and delivery of HR initiatives and projects
  • Support with end-to-end recruitment activities
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years' experience in an HR Advisory role, ideally within the Retail industry
  • Tertiary qualification in HR (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Ability to interpret Modern Awards – experience with the Retail Award is a plus
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with data analytics is a plus
