So, what's the role?

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Manager Credit Risk to provide expert oversight of credit risk across our treasury investment assets and loan portfolio. This pivotal role ensures our frameworks, policies, and risk practices align with regulatory expectations while supporting sound commercial decision-making and sustainable growth.

In this dynamic leadership position, you'll monitor the end-to-end credit risk lifecycle, balancing profitability with risk appetite and regulatory compliance. You'll be central to uplifting stress testing, provisioning, and capital adequacy frameworks, while guiding teams on regulatory standards and delivering insights that matter.

In a typical day, you'll get to:

  • Provide strategic oversight of credit risk, including hardship management, non-performing loans, specific provisioning and ECL, RWA, and capital adequacy.
  • Design and implement a robust hindsight process to ensure sound credit decisions and accountability.
  • Monitor credit risk RAS metrics and ensure the portfolio remains within appetite.
  • Lead the development of a fit for purpose credit risk stress testing framework aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve ICAAP-related stress testing models to reflect plausible scenarios in line with APRA expectations.
  • Conduct control testing in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of credit risk-related prudential standards.
  • Conduct deep dives into credit risk processes to ensure compliance with APRA reporting standards.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of APRA regulatory obligations in retail banking.
  • Experience with capital adequacy, ICAAP, and stress testing frameworks.
  • Proven ability to uplift credit risk frameworks and embed them into operational practice.
  • Strong risk and control mindset with experience in control testing.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with finance, risk, and audit teams.
