Position Summary :
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Tax Senior to join our Australian tax compliance team in the delivery of high-quality Australian tax compliance services across a diverse and growing client base. You will be involved in the preparation and lodgement of our more complex Australian tax returns, reviewing tax returns prepared by junior members and offshore workflows, and ensure timely and accurate lodgement of returns.
This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Support and mentoring will be available, but the role is not suitable for a junior or training candidate.
Key Responsibilities :
Australian Compliance
Prepare tax returns for individuals and other entities (excluding corporate)
Review individual tax returns prepared for clients including PAYG employees, retirees, property investors, and small business owners
Ensure timely lodgement of returns in accordance with ATO deadlines and compliance standards
Delivery of professional and confident communications with clients and stakeholders
Use Xero and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook) to manage compliance workflows and reporting.
Liaise with the ATO as needed for compliance matters and lodgement issues
Desirable, but not a must have) Apply understanding of UK & AUS cross-border tax matters for relevant clients
Skills & Experience Required :
Minimum 3 years' experience in Australian tax compliance (mandatory)
Strong working knowledge of ATO lodgement processes and key filing dates
Proficiency with Xero and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders
Highly organised, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated experience with a diverse client base, including individuals and small businesses
Cross-border tax experience (especially UK) is an advantage / CPA qualified (or equivalent) preferred
