The Role

We're excited to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for a dynamic and driven Senior Advisor, Workforce Development to become a key member of our People and Culture team at the vibrant South Brisbane Campus.

In this pivotal role, you'll provide expert guidance on human resources and employee relations matters to senior managers and stakeholders across the Brisbane region. You'll also lead impactful projects that align with TAFE Queensland's strategic goals, helping to shape a progressive and people-focused workplace.

This position reports to the Manager, Human Resources (Workforce) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a forward-thinking organisation committed to excellence in vocational education.

Salary

The salary range for a Senior Advisor, Workforce Development is $117,537.45 - $125,531.21 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
  • Provide timely support and advice in relation to the management of employee relations issues, human resource administration, employee complaints, ethical behaviour, performance management, investigations, mediations and related processes.
  • Ensure compliance to all policy and statutory requirements with respect to employee relations and human resource management by implementing and maintaining reporting mechanisms that monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Prepare correspondence, including briefing materials and reports, for the General Manager and other senior staff on issues related to workforce relations.
  • Establish networks and liaise with clients, officers from other agencies, unions and other external bodies to promote and monitor contemporary human resource management issues.
  • Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary human resource practices and policies occurring at a whole of government level, with a specific focus on employee relations.
  • Coordinate the planning, development and implementation of human resources projects that support regional initiatives and objectives as required.
  • Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the services provided by the People and Culture team.
  • Prepare recommendations, strategies and performance indicators to facilitate the implementation of project outcomes.
How You Will Be Assessed

  • Proven ability to provide high level advice and to develop operational strategies for the delivery of quality human resource management services.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivery of contemporary human resource services particularly relating to workforce relations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem solving and project management skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent consultative and written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders.
Highly Desirable

Candidates Who Possess The Following Will Be Highly Regarded

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in human resources, industrial relations or related disciplines
