The Role

Join us at TAFE Queensland – Contribute to shaping the future of Workforce Development. We're excited to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for a dynamic and driven Senior Advisor, Workforce Development to become a key member of our People and Culture team at the South Brisbane Campus.

In this role, you'll provide expert guidance on human resources and employee relations matters to senior managers and stakeholders across the Brisbane region. You'll also lead projects that align with TAFE Queensland's strategic goals, helping to shape a progressive and people-focused workplace.

This position reports to the Manager, Human Resources (Workforce) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a forward-thinking organisation committed to excellence in vocational education.

Salary

The salary range for a Senior Advisor, Workforce Development is $117, $125,531.21 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to transformation and cultural change by modelling the established values: Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
  • Provide timely support and advice on employee relations issues, HR administration, employee complaints, ethical behaviour, performance management, investigations, mediations and related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with policy and statutory requirements related to employee relations and HR management; implement and maintain reporting mechanisms to monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefing materials and reports for the General Manager and other senior staff on workforce relations issues.
  • Establish networks with clients, officers from other agencies, unions and external bodies to promote and monitor contemporary HR management issues.
  • Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary HR practices and policies at the whole-of-government level, with a focus on employee relations.
  • Coordinate planning, development and implementation of HR projects supporting regional initiatives and objectives.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders regarding the services provided by the People and Culture team.
  • Prepare recommendations, strategies and performance indicators to facilitate project outcomes.
How You Will Be Assessed
  • Demonstrate the ability to live TAFE Queensland values: Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Showing Initiative and Taking Responsibility.
  • Proven ability to provide high-level advice and develop operational strategies for delivering quality HR services.
  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary HR services, particularly workforce relations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent consultative, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders.
Highly Desirable

Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in human resources, industrial relations or related disciplines
