Boeing Australia is seeking an experienced System Administrator – Application Specialist to join the team, based 100% onsite in either Brisbane or Amberley. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of a range of software applications and delivery systems. You will work closely with the broader IT team and end-users to ensure the secure, reliable, and high-performing operation of applications across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Application Management: Install and configure software applications, optimise for performance and security, and collaborate with vendors and IT teams.
  • Maintenance & Support: Regularly update and patch applications, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimise downtime.
  • User Assistance: Provide expert technical support to end-users, acting as the primary contact for application inquiries and ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Security Implementation: Safeguard applications and sensitive data by enforcing security measures and monitoring access and permissions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration: Work with the IT team to integrate applications with existing systems and optimise performance through cross-team collaboration.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct testing of new application releases to ensure compatibility and minimise disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to streamline processes and boost system performance.
  • System Installation: Oversee the installation and configuration of servers and workstations, validating end-to-end functionality through testing.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a corporate or technical environment.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and supporting a range of software applications.
  • Understanding of Windows and Linux environments, databases, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements with the ability and willingness to obtain NV2 clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Desirable)
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python) and virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V).
