Our Team

Thales offers comprehensive solutions in Air Traffic Services, supporting Australia's growing travel requirements. We are delivering the Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS / OneSKY) in Australia, enhancing safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes.

Your role

The purpose of this position is to support the CMATS Training Team in simulation and dataset adaptation training, system analysis, design, development, and continuous improvement of the ATC simulation training solution for the CMATS Project.

The CMATS Operational Lifecycle Support Instructor will contribute to Data Specialist and Training User activities, ensuring training meets project objectives and resource efficiency. You will lead training for personnel involved in simulation configuration, dataset adaptation, and exercise management, demonstrating high expertise in Data Preparation (DPR) and Exercise Editor (EED) tools.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage TopSky-NG adaptation datasets for ATC and simulation, including Voice Control System datasets.
  • Supervise and control CMATS training and simulation activities, including session planning and configuration.
  • Operate Pseudo Pilot functions to support simulation training.
  • Analyze training requirements, design management plans, and develop training materials during analysis and design phases.
  • Develop CMATS training courseware, assist in dataset and scenario development, and facilitate training at the Thales Customer Training Area during development.
  • Deliver training, maintain materials, and evaluate training effectiveness during implementation.
Requirements on day one
  • Australian Citizenship for security clearance
  • Experience configuring Air Traffic Management systems and working with simulation datasets
  • Knowledge of ATM simulator platforms, troubleshooting, and resolving simulator issues
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience developing aviation simulation exercises for training environments
