Manual/Test Automation Engineer - Air Traffic Management [R10 FAA VoICE Program]

The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These 'Control Centre Solutions' are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the segments of Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic, and railways). Our Cluj office, established in 2009, has a team of over 200 colleagues and is expanding.

As part of our team, you will develop products in an international environment, with experienced professionals supporting your skill development and career growth. You will work on the X10 FAA project, which is Frequentis' innovative voice communication solution based on a state-of-the-art service-oriented architecture. This project facilitates the transition of traditional ATM-based voice communications to Unified Aeronautical Communications for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Operating on the Frequentis MosaiX platform, it can be integrated with other technologies from the Frequentis portfolio to deliver significant operational benefits.

Key Tasks
  1. Plan and develop test plans, cases, and specifications based on product requirements.
  2. Perform test procedures and methods outlined in the test plans.
  3. Test new software products prior to release.
  4. Ensure device interoperability across different product versions and hardware.
  5. Report data for engineering and customer review.
  6. Create and maintain test environments and data.
  7. Maintain high quality assurance standards throughout the software development and testing process, ensuring all requirements are tested and results documented.
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on manual testing experience.
  • Experience with test automation is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of various testing types and test case creation.
  • Knowledge of a Test Management System.
  • Experience with continuous integration.
  • End-to-end testing knowledge (both front-end and back-end).
  • Ability to translate technical content into understandable documents in English.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux) and networks.
  • Configuration and debugging experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • A relevant certification (e.g., ISTQB) is advantageous.
