We are looking for a Compliance Coordinator to join our high-performing team in Invasive Plants & Animals.
Responsibilities include:- Undertaking compliance activities according to, and contributing to the continuous improvement, review, and implementation of compliance strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Managing a small team, including providing support in investigations, enforcement activities, and meeting Workplace Health and Safety obligations.
- Responding to and investigating alleged breaches of the Biosecurity Act 2014.
- Developing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing high-level advice.
Biosecurity Queensland plays a vital role in securing the state's agricultural prosperity and protecting our environment and economy. We focus on safeguarding human and animal health by preventing and mitigating plant and animal pests and diseases, maintaining animal welfare standards, and ensuring compliance with legislation on agricultural and veterinary chemicals.
The Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) program directs strategic actions to reduce the impact of invasive species, which threaten Queensland's environment, agriculture, infrastructure, and health.
As our Compliance Coordinator, you will apply investigative and risk management skills to manage the impacts of invasive species. Queensland faces more biosecurity incursions than any other Australian state, making your role crucial in preventing, responding to, and recovering from biosecurity threats.
Success in this role means:- Identifying, responding to, and investigating alleged breaches of the Biosecurity Act 2014, especially concerning electric ants, and contributing to compliance strategies.

- Actively contributing to a high-performing team.
