
Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst supports the financial planning, analysis, and decision-making functions within a fast-paced, high-growth eCommerce retail environment. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, conducting performance analysis, and developing financial models to inform budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. The analyst will evaluate key eCommerce metrics such as sales performance, digital marketing ROI, customer acquisition costs, and inventory efficiency, providing actionable insights to cross-functional teams. The Financial Analyst partners with teams across Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations to assess financial implications of campaigns, pricing strategies, and business initiatives. The role also involves maintaining and improving internal reporting tools, ensuring transparency in financial methodologies, and staying current on industry trends to inform data-driven growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver accurate financial analysis and reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning
- Partner cross-functionally to align finance with business goals
- Monitor and improve key financial metrics
- Ensure compliance and audit readiness
- Build and maintain financial models
- Analyse monthly financial results and variances
- Prepare and present reports and dashboards
- Collaborate with departments on financial insights
- Automate and streamline reporting processes
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, as well as legislative requirements.
- Assist with external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Submit tax reports including BAS, PAYG, GST, FBT and Payroll Tax.
- Support the budgeting process by providing financial analysis, forecasting future financial trends, and identifying variances.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
- Proven experience in professional accounting with strong commercial insight
- Skilled in business analysis and aligning financial insights with strategic goals
- Confident communicator with excellent report writing and storytelling skills
- Quick to grasp complex systems, processes, and business requirements
- Proven interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team, develop and maintain key relationships and collaboration across multiple stakeholders with excellent report writing and storytelling skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, produce high quality work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on a company's success
- A high attention to detail, with the ability to work independently
- Critical thinker with an investigative nature, a problem-solving mindset, and an analytical approach to work

- Solid experience in Commercial or Financial Analysis, ideally within retail (ideally).
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, data modelling and dashboard creation.
- Strong Excel and SQL skills, with the ability to dive deep into data sets.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for finding stories in the numbers.
- A collaborative approach, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Commerce, plus CA/CPA qualification.
