About the role

Working as part of a small, dedicated team under the direction of the Senior Biomedical Technician you will provide biomedical engineering maintenance and repair services to advanced radiation therapy apparatus used in the treatment of cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.

  • Respond flexibly and efficiently to maintain clinical services.

  • Communicate openly and effectively with the medical physics and broader clinical team and withequipment suppliers and service agents.
  • Maintain records in accordance with requirements.

What you bring

  • Diploma of Electronics & Communications Engineering (or equivalent) or Electronics Trade certificate with extensive practical experience or 5 years' experience in the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Excellent well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability clearly speak accurate technical advice and guidance to all equipment stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to perform repairs and maintenance to radiation oncology equipment including high energy x-ray medical linear accelerators and equipment containing radioactive substances. Available to undertake necessary training including overseas training as required.
  • Team player with demonstrated organisational skills which include the ability to multitask, prioritise and respond well to rapid change.
