About the position

We're looking for a strategic and experienced Project Manager to lead a major campus development in the Cairns CBD. You will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction and completion, operating in a client-side role. You will oversee stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract administration, and risk management, while coordinating consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.

Position responsibilities
  • Lead a major campus development project in Cairns, managing the full lifecycle from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage procurement, contracts, risk, schedule, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, and local authority regulations.
Position requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading major infrastructure projects (> $50M) through all phases from design to completion.
  • Ability to work with funding bodies, councils, consultants, and contractors to achieve project outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills in scheduling, risk, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, tender preparation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, and local regulations.
