Electrical Project Manager – Electrical & Controls

Wangara, WA | Full-Time

This role is perfect for an experienced electrician or project manager with knowledge of electrical systems and controls (BMS/automation) who is looking to step into a leadership role within a dynamic and growing company. If you enjoy being involved in projects from conception to handover and are a natural team leader, this could be the opportunity for you.

MECS Electrical & Controls continues to expand, and we are looking for someone with the passion and drive to lead our electrical projects. Our client base spans across commercial buildings, industrial facilities, mechanical services, and industrial refrigeration — giving you exposure to a wide range of exciting and technically challenging projects.

Your role will include:

  • Leading a team of electricians and apprentices to deliver projects both large and small.
  • Managing electrical and controls projects from contract award through to execution and closeout.
  • Contributing to weekly team meetings with other managers.
  • Effectively managing people and resources to deliver projects: on time, on budget, and to client expectations.
  • Collaborating with the General Manager on tendering processes, providing insights into project feasibility, costs, and potential risks.
  • Acting as a key liaison between clients and the company, maintaining strong relationships and developing new opportunities.
  • Reviewing contract details to ensure successful project delivery.

About You:

  • Proven experience in project management within electrical contracting and controls/BMS.
  • Trade-qualified electrician with strong technical knowledge of controls and automation.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
