The team

The Enforcement Services group provides expert advice and guidance to ASIC's enforcement and compliance teams, using a range of technologies and digital processes to facilitate faster and better regulatory outcomes. Enforcement Services are future focused and build and maintain systems, tools and capabilities to deliver on strategic goals and ensure regulatory teams have the resources needed to meet the challenges ahead.

The role

As Analyst (Crypto and Digital Assets), you will be required to:
  • Investigate illicit use of crypto and digital assets, including fraud, misappropriation, and corruption.
  • Analyse customer account data, on-chain and off-chain transactions, account characteristics, and other open-source information to assess the nature of the activity
  • Provide technical advice and analytical support to enforcement and supervision teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve crypto tracing processes and tools.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blockchain technology and experience identifying illicit activity in the crypto and digital asset space. You will bring a strategic mindset, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

Other Key Requirements Include
  • Experience using blockchain analytics and tracing tools to investigate crypto-related misconduct.
  • Knowledge of blockchain architecture and digital asset technologies.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex findings clearly and persuasively.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive interest in emerging trends in blockchain-enabled cybercrime.
  • Qualifications in IT, Data Analytics or a related field (Chainalysis Reactor, TRM Labs or similar certification preferred).

Experience in financial services, regulation, law enforcement or legal practice would also be desirable.
