SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, delivering health care to around 930,000 residents across multiple areas. The OTDS Voluntary Assisted Dying Coordinator is a member of the OTDS Clinical team and serves as the key liaison between OTDS, the NSW voluntary assisted dying care navigator service, and local health district VAD teams. The role includes education and resource provision internally to OTDS and externally to stakeholders, establishing processes for Organ and Tissue Donation after voluntary assisted dying, and developing/publishing research related to voluntary assisted dying and organ and tissue donation.
Responsibilities- Act as the key liaison between the Organ and Tissue Donation Service (OTDS) and the NSW voluntary assisted dying care navigator service and local VAD teams.
- Provide education and resources internally to OTDS and externally to stakeholders.
- Create and establish processes within OTDS for procedures related to Organ and Tissue Donation after voluntary assisted dying.
- Develop and publish research related to voluntary assisted dying and organ and tissue donation.
