National Engineering Manager - Construction & Mining Equipment

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is a leading supplier of construction and mining equipment and is part of a global business. We are currently looking for an experienced Engineering professional with relevant industry knowledge and a strategic mind to contribute to the ongoing growth of the companies Hitachi branded range of construction, forestry and mining equipment. As the National Engineering Manager for Construction & Mining Equipment, you will be reporting to General Manager of Service and will be responsible for leading the technical expertise across our operations. In this role, the National Engineering Manager is responsible for leadership and direction of the engineering team whilst delivering effective technical support and approved engineering solutions to our national operations. Your other key drivers will include: * Positive and forward-thinking Safety Leadership and commitment to rigid Safety Policy & Procedures * Develop and own engineering stewardship framework (standard, guidelines, systems) - ensuring compliance to legislative and material risk obligations * Provide technical expertise & support to our business in the management of material risk and equipment/ process performance improvement * Analyse project deliverable objectives which are deliverable and review / recommend technical and functional requirements to improve business effectiveness * Demonstrate and share relevant knowledge of current technical challenges and impacts to our regional operations through regular communication with key stakeholders * Lead periodic technical audits schedule and scope in consultation with operations for continued improvements * Develop a network of engineering expertise both within and external to the business to identify value adding technology/ process and facilitate introduction To be successful in this role, you will need: * Highly developed knowledge of Construction & Mining "mobile equipment" Legislation * Demonstrated experience with Mobile mining & construction equipment design, assembly and application * Strong understanding of International and industry standards for design and maintenance * Proven ability to influence and positively lead at all levels of the business and across cultural boundaries * Recognised as a subject matter expert in "mobile equipment" Engineering, providing support in a personable and professional manner * Leadership and Technical experience with a multi- disciplined project and/ or operational environment What's on offer to you? * Competitive and rewarding base salary, plus super and potential to earn bi-annual bonus * Fully Maintained Company Vehicle, Personal Laptop and Mobile * Supportive management who value your input and a collaborative team working alongside you * A culture based on recognition of effort with a genuine work/life balance * Be a part of a leading OEM which genuinely values and ensures you are happy and safe at work Here at Hitachi, we believe that success comes from the partnership of our best-in-class products and the quality of our people.
