- Join one of Australia's most critical humanitarian programs and help ensure that emergency relief reaches those who need it most — in ways that are inclusive, equitable, and effective.
Contribute to a world where people, communities and the planet thrive.
Tetra Tech International Development is a leading development consulting firm working with governments, businesses, and NGOs to solve complex development challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. Learn more about us here.
The Opportunity
The Gender Equality Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Manager will lead the integration of GEDSI principles across all aspects of the Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC) program. Based in Brisbane, you will ensure that humanitarian emergency relief supplies and logistics services are appropriate for women, girls, people with disabilities, and other diverse groups.
You'll work closely with DFAT, technical experts, and local partners to embed inclusive practices, strengthen community engagement, and promote continuous improvement in GEDSI outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Australia's humanitarian response is delivered — ensuring it is inclusive, responsive, and transformative.
About the Program: Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC)
The HLC, managed by DFAT and implemented by Tetra Tech, facilitates the timely, effective, and flexible delivery of Australia's humanitarian assistance across the Indo-Pacific. With the largest stockpile of prepositioned humanitarian supplies in the Southern Hemisphere, HLC can respond to three simultaneous crises and support over 55,000 people.
HLC integrates cross-cutting priorities — including GEDSI, localisation, greening, innovation, and Indigenous engagement — into all operations and activities.
Your Role
- Lead the development and implementation of the HLC GEDSI Strategy and annual GEDSI Plan
- Conduct GEDSI analysis of supply chains and country contexts to inform inclusive programming
- Train staff in GEDSI principles and practices
- Review and improve the appropriateness of pre-positioned supplies
- Provide GEDSI advice during preparedness and response operations
- Collaborate with DFAT, humanitarian partners, and rights-holder organisations
- Support MERL initiatives to strengthen GEDSI outcomes and last-mile visibility
- Manage GEDSI components of service orders and logistics operations
- Engage external GEDSI specialists and lead cross-functional teams
- Establish partnerships with Women's Rights Groups and Organisations of People with Disabilities.
About You
You are an experienced GEDSI practitioner with a strong understanding of humanitarian logistics and inclusive development, with the prior experience to match. You thrive in complex environments and bring a collaborative, culturally competent, and solutions-focused approach.
You will possess:
- Mid-senior experience in inclusive and GEDSI-transformative programming
- Experience in humanitarian or development programs in the Indo-Pacific
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage external consultants
- Strong knowledge of GEDSI principles, policy, and participatory approaches
- Understanding of Australia's International Gender Equality and Disability Strategies
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- High levels of initiative, resilience, and cultural competence
- Relevant lived experience will be highly regarded.
