Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on campus safety? We're looking for a capable and proactive Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to deliver key elements of the University's emergency readiness and fire safety program.
The RoleYou'll be working in a close-knit and supportive team who genuinely care about what we do – you\'ll need to balance scheduled training and compliance activities with the occasional unexpected event. Your contribution will directly impact the safety and wellbeing of thousands of staff, students, and visitors. In this key role, you'll be at the centre of our emergency preparedness efforts, supporting compliance, training, and readiness across a diverse and dynamic university environment.
What you'll do- Deliver engaging, face-to-face emergency training across multiple campuses
- Create and maintain evacuation diagrams across the estate
- Coordinate our network of emergency wardens – from recruitment and training to ongoing engagement
- Support fire safety measure compliance
- Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness principles and fire safety compliance
- High-level organisational and administrative capability
- Experience interpreting legislation and applying it to operational contexts
- A collaborative, calm and solutions-focused approach
This full-time position is ongoing at a HEW 7 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

Application requirementsYour application must include:
- Your resume
- A cover letter outlining your motivation to apply for this opportunity, addressing your demonstrated experience in all the following areas:
- Delivering emergency preparedness and warden training, with a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment;
- The creation, maintenance and review of emergency evacuation diagrams; and
- Knowledge of fire safety measures and associated standards and legislation is essential.
A Certificate in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing or associated qualification would be highly regarded.
