This company has been in operation for 30 years and is one of Australia's leading Control Valve Distributors. They've been supplying control valves, butterfly valves and rotaries into major industries such as mining, oil & gas, water, chemical, power generation and food & beverage. The head office is located in Brisbane with branches in all major cities across Australia.

Position

This position is responsible for leading the procurement department, where you'll be responsible for the leading two team members along with the following:

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and performance for both local and international vendors
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers to optimise cost savings and efficiency
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into SAP and CRM systems
  • Prepare and present regular procurement reports to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements to increase efficiency

Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have over 4-5 years of experience working in a similar procurement role with experience managing 2-3 people. Ideally have experience with SAP and be passionate about leading and maintaining relationships with key suppliers.

  • Ideally 4-5 years of procurement experience
  • Passionate about leading and achieving goals as a team
  • Experience using SAP
  • Bachelors degree in business, supply chain management or a related field is ideal but not essential
