Overview

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria's newest public mental health service dedicated to young people aged 12 to 25. We are building a bold, values-driven transformation in youth mental health care across Melbourne's north and west. This is a senior leadership role focused on designing, delivering, and evaluating major transformation initiatives that create measurable impact for young people, families, and the broader mental health system.

This is a fixed-term 12-month position, likely to be extended. The Senior Transformation Manager will own major transformation programs end-to-end, forge strategic partnerships, and champion innovation to position PYMHWS as a sector leader. Remote work options and hybrid arrangements may be available.

Responsibilities
  • Drive system change by leading transformation initiatives that integrate PYMHWS with sector partners (Department of Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Western Health, Orygen) and position PYMHWS as a leader in youth mental health innovation.
  • Own major programs spanning service redesign, technology implementation, workforce development, and consumer experience across five metropolitan locations.
  • Shape the transformation pipeline using cutting-edge research and lived experience insights to keep PYMHWS at the forefront of practice.
  • Lead strategic partnerships by representing PYMHWS in sector forums and government engagement to influence policy and drive collaboration.
  • Build capability by developing high-performing transformation teams and expanding change management and innovation across clinical and operational teams.
  • Deliver results with real-time dashboards linked to KPIs, consumer outcomes, and system-level impact measures.
About You
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in health, mental health, or human services environments.
  • Proven track record as a strategic architect of organizational change, leading programs with measurable system-wide impact.
  • Ability to operate across multiple complex systems (clinical, operational, political, community) and drive change in challenging environments.
  • Motivated by improving outcomes for young people within Victoria's first standalone youth mental health service.
