Clarity Partners is partnering with a leading Australian mining and civil services contractor that delivers a broad range of projects for clients in the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join the team based in Perth's Eastern Suburbs. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large, diverse workforce across multiple sites. It's an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team within a stable and well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume workforce, including fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.
  • Interpreting and applying multiple EBAs, awards, and contracts.
  • Managing payroll queries and providing timely support to employees.
  • Coordinating with internal departments (HR, Finance, Site Admin) to ensure accurate data inputs.
  • Processing new hires, terminations, and changes in employee details.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, and legislative requirements.
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Identifying process improvements and contributing to payroll system enhancements.
  • Minimum of 4 years' demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within mining, construction, or other high-volume, blue-collar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Fair Work Act, superannuation, and tax obligations.
  • Experience interpreting and applying EBAs, awards, and contracts.
  • Proficient in using large payroll systems (e.g., Chris21, SAP, Pronto, or similar).
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively with internal teams.
