Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Medibank Full time
Overview

Team Enablement Specialist - Tooling Architect at Medibank. It's a strange thing to say, because us humans are capable of incredible things. And at Medibank, we know our greatest potential lies in the people who work with us.

We strive to make real, fundamental change, driven by a simple purpose: to create the best health and wellbeing for all of Australia.

The Opportunity

Our people have big goals here at Medibank, and we're looking for someone to help make them happen. As a Team Enablement Specialist (Tooling Architect), you'll play a key role in bringing our 2030 vision to life: creating the best health and wellbeing for Australia, by designing and supporting the systems and tools that keep our teams working brilliantly together.

As the Tooling Architect in our team, you'll be both the guardian and the architect of the core collaboration tools that power Medibank's "System of Work" — Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, and Miro. You'll keep them optimised, secure, and reliable, while ensuring they're configured in ways that help teams plan, collaborate, and deliver with clarity, confidence, and speed. This role blends technical excellence with systems thinking, all in service of enabling great work to flow across the organisation.

It's a great time to join us. Our ways of working are evolving, and there's genuine excitement across the business to connect more teams into our system. You'll be stepping into a role with strong momentum, visible impact, and the freedom to shape how we work for years to come.

You'll work closely with people right across Medibank, designing solutions and configurations that not only solve today's challenges but anticipate the needs of tomorrow's ways of working. Whether it's architecting smarter workflows, building permission models that balance autonomy and compliance, or enabling better insights through automation and integration, your work will help our teams move faster, together.

A core part of this role is enablement, helping our teams get the most out of our collaboration tools. You'll build and curate a self-serve knowledge base, run onboarding clinics, and champion learning moments that grow self-sufficiency with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, and Miro. By fostering transparency, psychological safety, and data-driven decision-making, you'll help teams use these tools to collaborate brilliantly and deliver healthier outcomes for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Choose how you work best — whether at home, in the office, or a mix. Focus is on outcomes, not office mandates.
  • Solve problems that matter by diagnosing and resolving challenges and embedding lessons learned into how we work.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with teams across Medibank, listening to their needs and designing configurations, workflows, spaces, and integrations that make work easier.
  • Shape the future of our tools by partnering with stakeholders and vendors to evolve our tooling roadmap and deliver features that drive real value.
  • Bring clarity to the big picture by designing dashboards and reports that show real-time progress on speed, alignment, and value creation.
  • Spark continuous improvement by streamlining value flows with automations and integrations that make tools work harder for people.
  • Make time for you and well-being, including flexible work and opportunities for activity and reset.

We also have a huge focus on health and wellbeing, and expect you to have the same. For us, this means flexible work and continuous improvement to our ways of working.

Who you are

First and foremost, you'll bring solid experience in administering Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center, along with Miro (or similar tools). You'll know your way around setting up sensible permission models and configurations, and be comfortable supporting teams to work securely and in line with best practice. You'll also have experience providing tier-2/3 support, delivering hands-on coaching, and jumping in to troubleshoot issues when they arise.

You'll be a strong and engaging communicator who is able to confidently translate technical detail into clear guidance for diverse audiences. A real people person, you will have a knack for building effective, positive working relationships and contributing effectively to your team.

Imagine working with us

We understand that work means different things to everyone. We know happy, healthy people make great teams, and great teams put more heart into each customer and patient interaction. And that's why we're reinventing work. Imagine a workplace where work didn't feel like work, where you could shape when and where you work to have more impact, and where flexible working is a reality. Imagine a workplace that helps you and your family thrive, with connection, personal development and health and wellbeing front of mind.
