Medical Laboratory Scientist - Cytologist at NSW Health. Permanent full-time position located at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, Sydney. Applications close on 14 September 2025 - 11:59pm.
What you'll be doingResponsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training, and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.

- Bachelor Degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification with pathology-relevant subjects
- Knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services relevant to the laboratory, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Control Systems; familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Customer-focused with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to report and document findings clearly
- Ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines; ability to work both in a team and autonomously
- Demonstrated problem solving, analytical skills and initiative in a pathology laboratory setting
- Understanding of legislation, policies and requirements affecting the laboratory, including work health and safety and privacy
- CT(ASC) qualification with demonstrated knowledge and ability to screen and, where authorised, report non-gynaecological and gynaecological cytology preparations
- Position classification: Scientific Officer
- Remuneration: $73,440.82 - $104,751.61 per annum plus superannuation
- Hours per week: 38
