Accounts Payable Supervisor - Automotive Industry

Are you an experienced and meticulous Accounts Payable professional ready to step into a supervisory role within the fast-paced automotive industry?

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the day-to-day accounts payable operations and contribute to the financial efficiency of a dynamic car dealership in Castle Hill.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Office Manager/ Financial Controller, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of all accounts payable processes. This is more than just managing invoices; it's about leading, problem-solving, and contributing directly to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage & Coordinate AP Processes: Oversee the end-to-end processing of invoices and prepare them for timely payment.
  • Payment Runs: Assist with weekly payment runs via EFT and BPAY.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Expertly resolve invoice discrepancies, liaising directly with suppliers and vendors in line with established AP procedures.
  • Statement Reconciliations: Accurately reconcile supplier statements.
  • Invoice Coding Management: Oversee the precise allocation of invoice coding through the Docusmart Payables system.
  • General Administration: Provide essential administrative support, including: filing, typing, mail sorting, and various account reconciliations.
  • Project Involvement: Contribute to additional projects as directed by management.
What You'll Bring:

We're looking for a highly organised individual with a proven track record in accounts payable and a proactive approach to their work.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Accounts Payable role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong numeracy skills, and high data entry accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and VLOOKUP.
  • A strong ability to follow processes and problem-solve, with a knack for "thinking outside the square."
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external liaison.
  • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative "can-do" attitude and a commitment to being a strong team player.
  • Punctual with professional presentation.
  • An interest in accounting and a continuous desire for learning new skills.
  • Experience with Dealer Management Systems is a plus.
