Responsibilities
Hamilton Company is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support, repair, and maintain robotic instrumentation. The ideal candidate will work in the field and support the Australian/New Zealand territory. The ideal candidate will be located in Sydney, Australia. The Field Service Engineer will be tasked with providing high quality customer support through instrument installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for new equipment installation.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair Hamilton equipment.
- Report problems and perform root cause analysis on instrument failures.
- Regular commute to and from customer sites with ability to navigate within the region. Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A high desire for quality.
- Demonstrated experience working in the field as well as corporate setting.
- Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
- Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
- Ability to learn new robotic operating systems.
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License.
- Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check.
- Must have personal, reliable transportation with valid registration and insurance that can safely transport necessary equipment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit university preferred.
Or
- The equivalent combination of an Associates, Vocational, Technical/Trade, or equivalent degree/certificate and at least two years of technical experience working in an electronic/electrical engineering environment with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronics, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
Experience
- Experience in technical field service and working with customers in the life science, clinical, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
- Experience in automation or similar field is required.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.
