This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Manager Finance. The City seeks a strategic finance partner to develop and deliver the long-term financial plan, annual budget, and financial management services, including reporting to Council.

Base pay range

A$133,786.00/yr - A$147,880.00/yr

About the role

The successful candidate will lead a team of financial specialists, drive a strategic business partnering approach, and collaborate across City units to deliver the long-term financial plan, annual budget, and ongoing financial management and reporting to Council.

In this role you will undertake duties such as:

  • Achieving the City's long-term financial goals through a business partnering approach and provision of specialist financial advice.
  • Developing the long-term financial plan and annual budget.
  • Evaluating business cases for projects and their financial impact.
  • Financial modelling on service reviews and projects.
  • Monthly financial and management reporting to the Executive Team and the Council.
  • Leading a team of highly skilled finance professionals to build financial capability throughout the City.
Skills & Experience
  • CPA, CA or equivalent Accounting qualification required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar level role with leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering financial analysis, monitoring financial budgets, developing long-term financial planning and annual budgets.
