Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to be part of Equinix's growth in Asia Pacific. We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for our APAC team based in Sydney, reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Management, Asia-Pacific. The focus is on commercial management of major expansion construction projects across Asia-Pacific, working closely with internal project teams.

The role involves supporting strategic and operational priorities, including reducing construction costs, ensuring financial controls, managing contractual risks, and reporting to senior management.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare budgets with detailed cost modeling, analysis, and presentation to management
  • Monitor project adherence to budgets, including cost reviews and value engineering
  • Guide procurement processes for design services, equipment, and contractor agreements
  • Manage commercial change processes and evaluate changes
  • Handle contractual claims and disputes
  • Review project cash flow analytics and earned value analysis
  • Oversee project financial close-out and vendor settlements
  • Lead risk management efforts, including audits and contingency analysis
  • Review and discuss project cost reports with senior management
  • Ensure compliance with expenditure limits
  • Report on project status, challenges, and successes
  • Develop and track key commercial metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practices
  • Train teams on commercial controls and practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, business, finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with MEP or data centers is advantageous
  • RICS accreditation preferred
  • Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and computer skills
  • Experience in construction as a client, developer, or consultant is preferred
  • Experience in mission-critical/data centers and negotiation skills are advantageous
