Location: Parramatta, NSW
Employment type: Temporary full-time until 30 June 2026 with potential for part time or job share and possibility of extension.
Salary: Grade: $105,986 – $116,969 per annum (depending on NAATI credentials held), plus superannuation and annual leave loading, in accordance with the Crown Employees (Interpreters and Translators, Multicultural NSW) Award.
What You'll DoThe onsite Interpreter & Translator will deliver accurate, high‑quality interpreting and translating services in the relevant community language to ensure that members of the relevant ethnic community have equal access to government and non‑government services. Your duties include delivering onsite and telephone interpreting at our Parramatta office and translating a variety of documents, five days a week. Occasionally you may need to attend onsite assignments. You will manage competing priorities in a high‑volume environment, communicate sensitively with diverse customers to facilitate communication, and stay up to date with industry developments to maintain compliance with current standards and codes of ethics.
What We're Looking For- NAATI Certified Interpreter and Translator, in both directions, holding all of the following certifications:
- Certified Interpreter or higher in Arabic, Mandarin or Vietnamese
- Certified Translator Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese into English
- Certified Translator English into Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese
- Over five years' experience in interpreting and translation
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to perform well under pressure
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks and work to a flexible schedule at the Parramatta office or attend onsite interpreting assignments as needed
