Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia ORS Group Full time

We are looking for Provisional Psychologists who are passionate about providing person-centred, evidence-based assessments and interventions for clients across the lifespan. You will join a national team of 300+ Psychologists & Counsellors providing clinical services to NDIS participants aged 0-65. You will work across early intervention, school age, adolescent and adult services with clients who have various presentations, diagnoses, and disability types. You will get to work with an amazing group of clients over a period of months or even years. You will play an integral part in their personal growth and development, working together to meet their goals. You will form a close bond with your clients and celebrate their achievements together, every step of the way.

Your day-to-day duties will involve working with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve the best possible outcomes for your clients. You will assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours and work towards increasing skills, improving emotion regulation, and introducing replacement behaviours to reduce the use of restrictive practices.

Work Life Balance

The ORS executive team really believes in the benefits of a healthy work-life balance. Many of us have families and lead busy lives outside of work, so we know how important it is for our staff to maintain a balanced lifestyle. For this reason we:

  1. Provide the resources for our staff to be able to work from home
  2. Aim to allocate clients close to your home
  3. Give you ownership of your own calendar so you can book appointments to suit your schedule
  4. Provide suburban office locations with free onsite and local parking
  5. Give you the ability to work part-time or reduced hours
Psychology Internship Program

To support employees with their supervised practice pathways to general registration as a Psychologist, ORS funds $7,500 in annual supervision costs to complete an internship program. Currently, we employ over 180 Provisional Psychologists and understand what it takes to support individuals effectively through to full registration. Supervision is either provided in-house by an experienced and registered supervisor, or employees may find their own external supervisor, and ORS pays up to $7,500 per year.

Learning and Development

At ORS we truly value the clinical and professional development of our staff. That is why we have four dedicated Learning & Development Managers in the Positive Behaviour Support division who all possess many years of diverse clinical experience, extensive background in university lecturing, and impressive qualifications. You will be able to connect with these individuals in one-on-one and group training sessions, plus have the ability to email or pick up the phone at any time to ask their advice on complex cases. This resource is in addition to the many Managers and Team Leaders we have on staff

Requirements
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
  2. Ability to become registered as a Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA
  3. Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex diagnoses (desirable)
  4. A car and licence
  5. A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or able to get one for a client-facing role (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
