Vectiq is seeking a Scheduler and Project Controls Officer to join a team within the Defence environment. In this role, you will support multiple projects across various stages of the capability life cycle, applying your expertise in scheduling, project controls, and coordination to ensure successful delivery of key milestones.

Onsite: Canberra

Security Clearance: NV1 or higher required

Contract Role: Immediate start - January 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to support the progress of initiatives through capability life cycle stages, including preparation of documentation for project reviews and approvals.
  • Develop and maintain master schedules, including baselines, progress tracking, and Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Conduct variance analysis, prepare forecasts, and contribute to corrective action planning where needed.
  • Provide guidance on project monitoring and control processes.
  • Contribute to briefs, reports, and other project documentation using a variety of tools and methods.
  • Coordinate risk management activities with project managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Undertake project control activities including budgeting, change management, forecasting, earned value analysis, and administration.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to project management functions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Broad program and project scheduling experience
  • Strong background in project controls.
  • Understanding of relevant Defence acquisition or government project processes.
  • Holds an NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance
  • Australian citizenship
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse, multi-location teams.
  • Canberra-based or able to work on-site as required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience using Open Plan Professional (OPP).
  • Project management qualification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Previous work in Defence-related environments or complex technical domains.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to contribute to program and project performance reporting.
