Project Scheduler and Project Controls Officer

Vectiq is seeking an experienced Scheduler and Project Controls Officer to support multiple Electromagnetic Warfare projects for the Australian Defence Force. You will manage program and project schedules, provide project controls, and work with Commonwealth teams to ensure milestones are met, risks managed, and capabilities delivered.

Onsite: Canberra

Security Clearance: NV1 or higher required

Contract Role: Immediate start - January 2026

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Commonwealth project team members to progress projects through the One Defence Capability System, including preparation of key documentation for capability gate reviews.
  • Develop and maintain program and project master schedules, including establishing baselines, tracking progress, and structuring Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Conduct variance analysis, produce reports, and contribute to the development of corrective actions when required.
  • Provide expert scheduling and project control advice to the EWIS Land SPO team.
  • Prepare and contribute to briefs, reports, and other documentation using a range of tools and techniques.
  • Coordinate risk management activities with EWIS Land SPO Project Managers (both Commonwealth and Team Nova).
  • Undertake project control functions such as budgeting, change management, forecasting, earned value management, and general project administration.
  • Provide operational support for project management and assist with coordination activities.

Desired Skills

  • Diverse program and project scheduling experience, especially a minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with Open Plan Professional (OPP)
  • Formal project management qualification.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Defence and CASG experience in Electromagnetic Warfare and the Land domain.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assist with PPRIP and SPMS reporting.
  • Positive, collaborative approach with a can-do attitude.
