ARRC Gold Coast is a dynamic and innovative resource recovery and circular economy company owned by the City of Gold Coast.

It is the powerhouse behind the Advanced Resource Recovery Centre (ARRC), a$1.6 billionstate-of-the-art integrated recycling and energy precinct.

The ARRC will boost recycling capabilities, enhance remanufacturing and resource recovery andgenerate energy from residual waste.

Ultimately it willdivert up to 97% of waste away from landfill, providing a sustainable waste management solution for the Gold Coast and South-east Queensland

The Opportunity

As Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of critical Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and corporate standards while driving performance excellence. You will lead the seamless transition of new contracts from award through to steady-state operations, managing risks and fostering continuous improvement. Serving as the primary liaison between contractors, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, you will play a pivotal role in aligning contract delivery with ARRC's strategic objectives and sustainability commitments.

Your Key Responsibilities — Make Your Mark

Contract Mobilisation and Transition: Lead the comprehensive mobilisation and transition of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, ensuring meticulous risk management and effective onboarding processes. In particular, the O&M contract for the recently announced ARRC Organics facility at Yatala.

Performance Management: Oversee contract performance to ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs), safety protocols, and environmental standards are consistently met or exceeded.

Financial Oversight: Manage contract budgets, claims, and variations with rigorous financial discipline, ensuring alignment with organisational controls and objectives.

Stakeholder Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with contractors, internal stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to support seamless contract delivery.

Risk, Compliance, and Safety Leadership: Drive proactive risk management and compliance initiatives, maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory adherence throughout contract operations.

Team Leadership and Development: Inspire, coach, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.

Continuous Improvement: Champion ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive a culture of innovation and excellence.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, contract management, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in managing operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts, ideally within the waste, recycling, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Demonstrated success in transitioning and operationalising new contracts from award to steady-state delivery.

Strong understanding of contract governance, performance monitoring, commercial negotiations, and risk management.

Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and executive leadership.

Experience with safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to large-scale operational contracts.
