Overview

Victim Support Worker role at Anglicare WA. Part time (0.5 FTE) opportunity based in Albany. Maximum term contract until 31 December 2026. Salary: $86,950.50 + 12% Super + Salary Packaging.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of face to face and phone support to victims of family and domestic violence, including debriefing, psycho-education and information about FDV.
  • Providing trauma-informed, recovery-focused and culturally safe interventions to victims.
  • Safety assessment, safety planning, referrals and advocacy with victims.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator and Facilitator of the Men's Behaviour Change program, contributing victim-informed perspectives and safety risk management input.
  • Work toward ensuring the program does not increase risk to victims.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or Counselling with relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals and families, preferably in family and domestic violence and/or trauma.
  • Experience in family violence safety assessment and planning.
  • Experience working in culturally safe and responsive ways with clients from Aboriginal and other diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication.
  • Knowledge of victim and perpetrator issues in family and domestic violence and understanding of its impact on children.
  • Knowledge of current theory and practice related to family and domestic violence and trauma.
  • Current National Police Clearance (valid within one year), WA Working with Children Check, and WA Driver's Licence.
