Shire of Esperance, Australia Department of Education, Western Australia Full time
Overview

We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Castletown Primary School (PS) is located in the beautiful town of Esperance, within the Goldfields Education Region. Our school community is strong, inclusive, and proud of its shared commitment to student success. With a vibrant, future-focused staff, Castletown PS offers an exciting opportunity for educators looking to make a difference in a supportive and high-performing environment. We welcome applications from educators who are committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and who are ready to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative team.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be highly skilled in the planning, delivery, and assessment of Explicit Instruction, particularly in literacy, across Years 1 to 6. Castletown PS places a strong emphasis on teaching practices that are clear, structured, and evidence-based. Teachers are encouraged to implement these approaches consistently to support the learning and progress of all students.

Our school also delivers the Top 10 Mathematics program, providing students with a rich, hands-on approach to learning mathematical concepts. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate a capacity to make mathematics learning engaging, accessible, and concrete through this structured program.

Teachers at Castletown PS are encouraged to cater effectively to the diverse learning needs of students, including those with additional needs and complex behaviours, through the use of differentiation, strong routines, and strategies that promote high levels of student engagement. With a strong commitment to Visible Learning, our staff aim to ensure students understand their learning goals, receive timely and constructive feedback, and take ownership of their progress.

As a Primary Teacher at Castletown PS, you will be invited to work collaboratively with colleagues in planning and delivering high-impact instruction. Ideally, you will bring the ability to use student data to inform your teaching and provide targeted support where needed. Positive relationships between staff, parents, and students underpin our school culture and guide our daily interactions. An understanding of our current strategic priorities and Business Plan will be highly regarded.
