Senior Fire Management Officer – Noosa Council

Are you ready to make a real impact in one of Australia's most unique natural environments?

Noosa Council is looking for an experienced Senior Fire Management Officer to lead our fire management function and safeguard our community, environment and assets.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Bushland Reserve Fire Management Plan and fire mitigation programs
  • Lead planned burns, high-complexity fire operations and bushfire response
  • Collaborate with Traditional Owners to integrate cultural fire practices
  • Represent Noosa Council at regional and state fire management forums
  • Mentor and develop a small, high-performing team while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
About You

You're a fire management professional with proven expertise in bushland fire strategy, conservation and natural area ecology. You bring strong leadership, problem-solving and relationship skills, along with qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management (or similar), and Complex Planned Burn Supervisor accreditation. A C Class licence and 4WD capability are required, and additional tickets such as an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety or White Card will be highly regarded.
