Accounts Payable

Join our team within an exciting, growing company in a key role as an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) & Payroll Officer. At Cancer Care Associates Sydney CBD office, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced AP & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in a permanent, full-time role. The primary responsibility is to assist the AP & Payroll Manager with end-to-end weekly accounts payable and monthly payroll processing, ensuring payments to creditors and employees are made accurately, efficiently, and on time.

• Accounts Payable
• Process outgoing payments in accordance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
• Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
• Understand expense accounts and cost centres
  • Payroll
  • Processing payroll in XERO (monthly and ad hoc as required) and resolve any discrepancies
  • Process monthly payroll superannuation, update fund registers and manage bounce backs
  • Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information
  • Determining payroll liabilities such as annual leave provisions and long service leave provisions, redundancies, workers compensation payments and processing month-end journals to reflect these liabilities
  • Onboarding and offboarding of employees in collaboration with the corporate and local teams
  • Assist in the production of Workers Compensation, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax returns, and preparation of materials for auditing
  • Manage payroll year-end reconciliations
    • Ad-hoc / Project Work
    • Assisting the broader Finance team with ad-hoc and project work as needed

    What You Bring
    • Multi-year experience in a high-volume accounts payable and payroll environment
    • Proven strong stakeholder interactions
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Advanced Microsoft Office capability – Outlook, Word, Excel
    • Desirable: Previous working experience with XERO and Employment Hero
