Volunteer Management Support Officer | Department of Fire and Emergency Services
Permanent full-time vacancy based in Armadale. We are seeking a motivated volunteer management professional who can work independently, prioritise tasks, and provide high-level support to Volunteer Brigade, Groups and Units (BGU's) within the Metropolitan South East Region.
Base pay rangeA$86,439.00/yr - A$92,795.00/yr
About the RoleThe Volunteer Management Support Officer provides management, administrative, and logistical support to BGU leaders, DFES Managers and Local Governments to assist them in maintaining administrative and operational readiness and to comply with governance and statutory requirements. Under direction from the Superintendent, this role also supports BGUs promotional, communications, community, recruitment and retention activities by providing logistical and stakeholder relations support.
Key responsibilities include ensuring effective administrative processes, coordinating logistics for events and deployments, and supporting governance and statutory compliance as part of the regional team.
Responsibilities- Provide high-level administrative, logistical, and management support to BGU leaders, DFES Managers, and Local Governments.
- Coordinate promotional, communications, community, recruitment and retention activities for BGUs.
- Assist with governance and compliance requirements to ensure readiness and regulatory adherence.
- Support the Superintendent and regional team in prioritising tasks and managing activities.
- Serve as a liaison with volunteers, units, and external stakeholders to facilitate engagement and collaboration.
- Experience in administrative, logistical, or volunteer management roles.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder relations skills.
