Description: About the Position
Are you passionate about mental health, creative expression, and peer support? Join us as a Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Volunteer and help facilitate group activities, including art therapy, mindfulness, and Hearing Voices Network (HVN) peer support groups.
As a volunteer, you'll support individuals in their recovery journey through creative and social activities. Your contributions may include:
- Assisting with art therapy and creative workshops
- Facilitating mindfulness, social, and wellbeing groups
- Supporting Hearing Voices Network (HVN) peer groups to create a safe space for people to share their experiences
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging participation and connection in a safe space
- Marketing and Events
- Bouncing Back (Men's Mental Health Program)
- Make an Impact - Help individuals express themselves and build confidence
- Gain Valuable Experience - Learn about mental health and group facilitation
- Supportive Team - Work alongside experienced professionals
- Flexible Schedule - Volunteer at times that suit you
To be considered for a volunteer role, you will need to have;
Qualifications And Certificate
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than six months)
- A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- A current working with Children Check
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A passion for mental health, creativity, and group facilitation
- Strong communication and empathy skills
- Reliability and teamwork
- Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable
- Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress.
- The ability to live RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions.
- Pro-active individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles
