Risk and Compliance Manager

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Risk and Compliance professional to join a respected, mid-sized Wealth Advisory and Professional Services firm with offices across Australia.

This role offers a supportive culture, long-term stability, and genuine career progression.

Working closely with the General Manager – Risk & Compliance, you will help shape the firm's approach to enterprise risk and regulatory compliance while gaining exposure across all facets of the business.

Our client is a well-regarded firm with a long history in Australia operating under its own AFSL, providing high-quality wealth advisory and professional services. With a collaborative and client-focused culture, the firm values integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Based at the Melbourne Head Office, this role partners directly with senior leadership providing a unique platform to make a meaningful impact while developing your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise risk and compliance frameworks
  • Working closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance promote the firm's risk appetite and culture across business functions
  • Support business units in identifying, assessing, and managing key risks and regulatory obligations
  • Advise on policy development, control design, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain effective training programs to ensure risk and compliance awareness firm-wide
  • Prepare reports and insights for executive management and the Risk Committee

About You

  • Proven experience in a risk and compliance role within the financial services sector
  • Solid understanding of AFSL regulations
  • Strong knowledge of investment or financial advice and professional services environments would be excellent
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and deliver practical, business-aligned solutions
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels
