About the role

The Community Development Coordinator engages with diverse community groups, residents, including those in priority/target areas, internal and external stakeholders and local organisations to develop and implement strategic, innovative and vibrant programs, services and events to meet community needs. Aligning with strategic goals and objectives, the Community Development Coordinator works with community and stakeholders to support and build community connection, social cohesion, cultural awareness and expression, community capacity and autonomy and improve collective wellbeing and resilience.

This role will further develop and enhance the City of Sydney's work in key community development areas, working across the City of Sydney area. To best support key priority groups, this role is targeted towards a Bilingual candidate with efficient and fluent language in Mandarin.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Relevant qualifications and/or knowledge gained through experience in the field of community development or engagement.Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of community development initiatives, including events and programs.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and work cooperatively to achieve community outcomes.Experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.Demonstrated experience with project management, document preparation, and report writing.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
