About the Role :

HopeStreet Dubbo is a place of refuge where faith meets action, offering holistic support to people facing homelessness, domestic violence, financial stress, and other challenges. The team provides care that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs—restoring hope and helping individuals rebuild their lives.

The Community Development Coordinator is part of the wider Community Services Team, focusing on creating and implementing community strengthening programs, utilising trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm minimisation approaches to design initiatives. The Coordinator collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and implement community-based programs and promote opportunities to be a part of advocacy.

About You :

Degree minimum qualification, or a Diploma and experience in Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or relevant disciplineDemonstrated experience working with people experiencing marginalisation and vulnerabilityDemonstrated experience in participatory community program design and deliveryDemonstrated experience facilitating community engagement, consultation and codesignDemonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity and promote the organisation's values through interactions at workDemonstrated knowledge, understanding of and commitment to social justice and community developmentAbility to work from trauma-informed, strengths-based and harm minimisation frameworksAbility to develop and manage effective programs, including design, delivery and ongoing reviewAbility to develop safe, inclusive and engaging spaces with a strong sense of communityAbility to walk alongside community to achieve their goalsAbility to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with local stakeholders, including other organisations and the communityHigh level of initiative.Holds a current and valid Working with Children CheckCurrent Drivers' License
