Job Role

The Community Engagement Officer will promote mental health awareness and understanding of our services through community activities. They will represent the Centre at forums and events, develop partnerships, and lead initiatives to increase consumer participation.

This is a full-time fixed-term position until June 2026 with options for a Rostered Day Off each month.

About The Position

We provide evidence-based assessment, care coordination, information, support, and treatment to people experiencing psychological distress and their families, carers, and support networks.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education. They must also possess excellent communication and engagement skills.

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or significant experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, including public speaking tailored to specific audiences.
  • An understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use issues.
  • Knowledge of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTI populations.
