Category Manager – Indirect Materials/Key Suppliers – Lead discussions and negotiations with key suppliers to ensure the right products are available at the right price, driving savings and cost avoidance. About the RoleAs a Category Manager – Indirect Materials/Key Suppliers, you will shape our procurement strategy and ensure the group gets the best value from our key suppliers. You will lead discussions and negotiations to ensure the correct products are available at the right price, driving business savings and cost avoidance. You will develop and implement category plans and negotiate contracts, establishing and building strong relationships with stakeholders to drive efficiency. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence at all levels.

- Responsible for managing spend in the indirect categories across the business
- Work with Procurement Manager to develop and implement category management strategies across Master BOQ headings to deliver best value
- Implement structured agreements with supply chain covering pricing, service levels and specifications
- Assist in the identification and implementation of regional supply chains
- Negotiate and finalise terms of supplier agreements
- Review margin and ETS reports and assist in initiatives to reduce costs and margin erosion
- Assist with developing product and pricing information for promotional activities
- Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of standard upgrade lists
- Develop, manage and maintain professional relationships with supply chain
- Work collaboratively with Estimating, Finance, Selections Consultants, Drafting and Construction Teams
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Building/Construction or similar
- Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Excellent process review and mapping skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Sales experience/background (desirable)
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite as well as other programs
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Enjoys working under pressure
- Comfortable with complexity and an appetite to address tough commercial decisions
- Works well as part of a team
- Accepts accountability
- Innovative thinker, challenges the status quo appropriately
- Attention to detail
- Adapts to different situations
- Demonstrates integrity and ethical behaviour
