What's the job?

We're seeking an Events Coordinator to play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering events across Torrens University.

Reporting into the National Events Manager, this is a hands-on role that contributes to both strategic planning and on-the-ground delivery. You'll be involved in everything from graduations and industry events to Orientation, Open Days, and campus activations – ensuring each event runs smoothly and creates a memorable experience for students, staff, partners, and guests.

This position requires flexibility, excellent organisation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Availability for after-hours and weekend events, along with travel between campuses, is required.

This is a Full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate would need to be located in Melbourne.

Accountabilities

In This Role, You Will

  • Coordinate end-to-end event logistics including venues, suppliers, staffing, run sheets and pack down.
  • Support the delivery of national and local events such as Open Days, Info Nights, Webinars, Orientation, and Welcome Weeks.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for national graduation ceremonies.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Assist with pre-event promotion, guest management, registrations and post-event follow-up.
  • Capture event attendance, feedback and outcomes to support reporting and continuous improvement.

We are looking for
  • Preferrable at least 3 years' experience coordinating or supporting events in a multi-campus or fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale events such as graduations, orientations or corporate functions.
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • A proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel nationally as required.
