In this role, you'll:
Program

•Lead a diverse team navigating through complex issues and challenges, leading high level consultations and negotiations with contractors as well as with internal Transport for NSW and government agency stakeholders, to successfully deliver customer outcomes


•Provide expert and strategic advice to project delivery teams to inform program and project management strategies, to ensure effective use of budget and resources


•Establish and lead delivery teams to oversee functions, resources and outputs ensuring projects are well resourced and delivery goals are achieved


•Provide expert advice, options and find solutions to project issues and challenges


•Ensuring risks are managed and project delivery impacts are minimised


•Work with stakeholders across the division to enhance knowledge sharing


•Work in close collaboration with stakeholders from Transport for NSW, government agencies, and the private sector to provide cross agency coordination and to facilitate high level, integrated and effective decision making

Primary work location will be in Greater Sydney region with occasional travel involved to regional Sydney. Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1B level role offering an attractive remuneration package with an expectation of 3 to 4 days in the office per week.

As Program Director, Regional Rail, you will bring a proven track record in leading complex, high-impact strategies and customer-focused initiatives. Your ability to engage stakeholders, navigate government processes, and influence in politically sensitive environments will be critical to your success.

You can cut through the noise and make complex ideas and topics easier to understand. As an accomplished strategist, your customer-centric approach to developing an enterprise-wide strategy, incorporating data analytics, emerging mobility trends will allow you to develop future-ready strategies that put people first.

This is a rare opportunity to shape Transport's strategic direction, ensuring our efforts align with what customers need, experience, and expect. You will provide trusted, strategic advice to executives, elected officials, and policymakers, enabling informed decisions that reflect the priorities of the communities we serve.

Essential requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Management or relevant discipline, or extensive experience in leading complex transport operations activities.


• Proven experience leading complex rail or infrastructure projects


• Possess a valid Australian motor vehicle driver's license and be willing to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion.
