About the opportunity

Join the team behind Inland Rail-one of the nation's most ambitious infrastructure programs-delivering faster, safer, and more efficient freight connections across regional communities. As a Project Engineer - Structures, you'll play a hands-on role in driving complex projects forward, ensuring they're delivered on time, on budget, and with lasting benefits for local economies and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of A2P Enhancement projects aligned with Inland Rail standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate inputs from stakeholder engagement, safety, environment, commercial, and project controls.
  • Review contractor scopes, schedules, budgets, and safety plans to ensure alignment with contract requirements.
  • Assist in resolving site and construction issues, reporting on scope deviations and variation impacts.
  • Contribute to safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Support project management planning, performance reporting, and KPI tracking.
  • Assist with contract administration, financial forecasting, and approvals.
  • Conduct site inspections and liaise with consultants and engineers.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
  • Eligible for ARTC Major Construction Verification or Supervisor competency.
  • Knowledge of or an awareness of work health and safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in an organised, well ordered manner.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen.
  • Driver's Licence - Class C
