About the opportunity
Join the Inland Rail Property Group as a Manager Property Acquisition Delivery, where you'll lead a team of professionals delivering strategic land acquisition outcomes across NSW and QLD. This is a pivotal leadership role driving complex negotiations, stakeholder engagement, and governance excellence to support one of Australia's most significant infrastructure programs.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead a team of property professionals and manage external service providers (valuers, legal, acquisition support).
- Provide expert advice on acquisition strategy, policy, and planning to the Property Program Director.
- Oversee governance, compliance, and continuous improvement of acquisition processes.
- Develop and execute property acquisition strategies at program, project, and case levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between Inland Rail and ARTC objectives in land acquisition activities.
- Prepare high-level reporting including dashboards and board papers
About you
The successful candidate will be an experienced property acquisition professional with demonstrated experience in leading complex land acquisition programs within major infrastructure or government settings. You will possess a deep understanding of relevant legislation and just terms principles, alongside strong strategic planning, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and external service providers is essential, as is the ability to operate effectively at senior levels and influence across diverse stakeholder environments.
Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualified (degree qualification in technical, legal, property or other relevant discipline)
- Knowledge of and experience in the preparation and execution of contracts for property dealings.
- Experience in real estate valuation, negotiations for land acquisition and/or compulsory acquisition of land.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of appropriate commercial and legal treatments for property contract development.
