A global leader that sets the standard for construction equipment and digital solutions to monitor/manage the construction equipment is looking for a driven & goal oriented Channel Management Consultant to focus on retail customers of their dealers that purchase few machines or purchase infrequently. Your goal will be to increase revenue and growth within the retail segment in the Australian market. You will do this by leading initiatives through their dealer network. These initiatives will improve their dealer's marketing and sales capabilities, optimize the retail customer experience and improve the productivity/efficiencies for the customer as well as reduce distribution costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an annual marketing execution plan for, working with stakeholders to define marketing priorities in-line with business goals and available budget.
  • Seek creative ways to find and engage with new customers through marketing communications primarily focussed on digital and social communications.
  • Lead the creative development process with marketing and media agencies to develop, refine and implement digital marketing campaigns for the territory.
  • Developing an annual marketing investment plan and maintaining a close working knowledge of marketing spend vs plan.
  • Develop an understanding of customer purchase drivers and behaviours that support maximising engagement of new customers through Cat and Dealer websites, social media and dealer call-centre channels.
  • Maintain regular reporting of key marketing metrics and campaign results.
  • Maintaining regular internal communications within the marketing and sales departments of both Caterpillar and dealer groups to discuss and align the marketing strategy to changing organisational scenarios.

To be considered for this role you must have:

1. Digital Marketing Capability and Digital customer Journey

  • Working knowledge and experience in creating and executing Digital marketing campaigns and communications through digital platforms including Internet Search, Website ads, social media, electronic direct mail in a B2B environment.

2. Creativity in communications

  • Has a desire to explore and experiment with creative ways to communicate brand and product value that drives sales inquiry while staying true to brand identity guidelines.
  • Challenges accepted ways of doing things and seeks new alternatives that drive improved outcomes.
  • Encourages, solicits, and rewards imaginative ideas.
  • Supports experimentation and accepts occasional setbacks.

3. Collaboration and Project Management

  • Demonstrates collaborative processes that lead to problem solving and the achievement of shared business goals.
  • Understands how to best influence outside groups to align with our desired direction.
  • Ability to solicit, listen and apply feedback from Cat dealers and internal groups that support improved outcomes.
  • Ability to address and influence individuals at dealers, agencies and internal groups to complete tasks and commitments in a timely manner.
  • Provides advice and input to other groups on areas of common objectives.

4. Industry Knowledge and Customer Focus:

  • Understanding of Industry purchase drivers and/or Caterpillar product offerings is desired but not essential.
  • Willingness to explore and develop new methods of conveying product value to potential new customers such as video content, use of social influencers and so on.
  • Explore new and modern methods of communication through digital including social and internet channels.

This is a contract role has an initial duration of 12 months with the strong possibility of extensions or transitioning to a permanent role. A competitive rate of pay is on offer.

Travel is required involving approximately 25 – 30%. You may also be required to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, for global meetings.

The role is be based at Tullamarine, Melbourne.
