About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Bookkeeper in an Accounting, Business Advisory or Law Firm
  • Be familiar with all the expected statutory & regulatory requirements so far as accounting and financials (BAS, Super, Balance Sheets, P&L, Depreciation Schedules, Amortisation Schedules)
  • Ability to problem solve, meet deadlines, prioritise work and deliver on time
  • Highly developed communication skills – written, verbal, face to face
What you'll be doing
  • Working collaboratively with the team
  • Preparing statutory obligations — IAS, BAS, and STP finalisation
  • Processing payroll and superannuation
  • Educating, training and supporting clients, recommending solutions (such as software) to optimise their existing processes
  • Contributing to continuous improvement – both internally and externally with clients
  • Developing insight-based reporting to help people from non-accounting/finance backgrounds understand the 'why'
  • Leading client meetings with clear updates, performance insights, and proactive advice
  • Preparing and lodging Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation obligations
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Setting up amortisation schedules
  • Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies
  • Working confidently across Xero, MYOB, and other accounting platforms

In short, you'll be helping our clients ensure the statutory/regulatory requirements are met and that they're not 'out of bounds' in terms of their responsibilities to the ATO, ASIC, Workers Compensation, and so on.
