About The Role

Based in our offsite BHP Newcastle Office, NSW and reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Scheduler is a pivotal role in coordinating the movement of coal from mine to market. Working closely with operations, rail, port, and customer teams, you will ensure efficient scheduling, compliance with contractual obligations, and timely delivery to customers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise daily, weekly, and monthly coal logistics schedules
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, rail operators, and port terminals to ensure effective coordination and alignment of movements with production and sales commitments
  • Monitor coal flows to ensure contractual and operational requirements are met
  • Respond to logistical changes and disruptions, reforecasting and adapting schedules as required
  • Provide regular reporting and performance analysis to management and customers
  • Be on call 24/7 for logistics related issues

The logistics scheduler role will also be required to work on a rotation to support administration requirements related to all port and rail SAP transactions and contract administration obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support to the integrated supply chain schedules
  • Maintains product movement records using the 1SAP supply chain process
  • Processing and reconciling supply chain vendors, project vendors and general invoices associated with Mt Arthur's Integrated Operations
  • Managing vessel Laytime calculations in accordance with customer contracts
  • Assist with 24/7 on call scheduling activities

Working in a small and close team you will be provided with the opportunity to collaborate with all levels of the business, and you will have access to supportive, hands-on leaders. You will also be provided with experience opportunities to act in other roles within the team.

About You

You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or any other relevant formal qualification coupled with a minimum 2 years working experience. You will also possess the ability to work, both independently and as part of a team. You will have a high level of attention to detail, strong business acumen and the ability to build consultative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally.
